Welcome to the Broome Street Residence! Our residence hall is located directly between New York City’s historic Little Italy and trendy SoHo neighborhoods.

Some of my responsibilities as CDE include: serve students in need, oversee all academic and community development initiatives, supervise Resident Assistants, advise the Broome Street Hall Council, and hear incidents as the judicial officer for the residence hall. I earned my undergraduate degree at Fordham University and a Masters of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration/College Student Development at The Ohio State University.

The Broome Street Residence offers some marquee programs offered by the University. For example, Brad Lewis, M.D., Ph.D. of the Gallatin School of Individualized Study and Joanne Rendell, Ph.D. and their son Benny serve as the Faculty Fellows in Residence. Brad & Jo offer many activities for all Broome Street students. Some of the activities include: Broome Street Café, BIG Ideas, Chick Lit & Cheese, Eat out with Benny, Bitch n’ Bitch, Eco-Broome, NoNY (Nights out in New York), and the Best of the New Yorker.

Two of our floors participate in the University’s Explorations programs. The third floor hosts the Take a Bite out of the BIG Apple community. We are pleased to have Jennifer Berg, Director of the Nutrition, Food Studies, & Public Health program within the Steinhardt School of Education serves as the Faculty Affiliate for the Exploration community. The fourth floor hosts the City as a Page community. Olivia Birdsall of the College of Arts & Sciences’ Expository Writing department serves as the Faculty Affiliate for the Exploration community.

Broome Street is also fortunate to participate in New York University’s sophomore year experience program, know as ‘more. Second year students live in the hall and academic and community development initiatives relate to the maturation of sophomore students. For example, Stress Relief Through Art is offered to Broome Street students through the Steinhardt School of Education, The Wellness Exchange and University Health Center, The Department of Residential Education, and the Broome Street Hall Council. Lastly, Broome Street offers reoccurring programs organized by Resident Assistants, and the Hall Council.
