In order to perform its educational function, the University requires the individual and mutual cooperation of its members, both in and out of the formal classroom. The residence hall community has an established set of policies, administrative procedures, regulations, and standards of behavior that are consistent with the educational mission of the University. Included, is the regulation of the conduct and behavior of the University community members whose actions may impede, obstruct, or threaten the maintenance of order and/or the achievement of these University educational goals.

To achieve this goal, the University reserves the right to review all alleged violations of Residence Hall policies, and to initiate disciplinary action and impose sanctions when appropriate. A detailed description of University policies governing student conduct and procedures is contained in "The Student's Guide to NYU." Copies may be obtained from the Student Resource Center, Kimmel Center for University life, 212-998-4959, or online at www.nyu.edu/students.guide.
