The Torch Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary at NYU is a student organization that truly believes that recognition is an important aspect of the community experience in the residence halls. NRHH fosters recognition in two distinct ways:

• Inducting members into the organization annually who are believed to represent the top 1% of undergraduate students living on campus who contribute positively to the residential communities at NYU (thus the membership of NRHH cannot exceed 1% of the total undergraduate residential population).
  
  
• The inducted members meet regularly to review and select nominations for various categories for "Of the Month" awards which can be submitted by anyone. These awards were created to recognize those individuals that make a difference each month of the Academic Year. Each year, "Of the Year" awards also are selected to highlight individuals and programs of excellence.

The Torch Chapter of NRHH is affiliated regionally with the NEACURH (North East Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls) and nationally with NACURH - NRHH.
