After accessing the Lottery Selection form, students can search among available suites and rooms in the database and compile a list of preferred suites. Once students have compiled their list of preferred suites, they can then assign themselves and members of their card from among the spaces they have chosen provided they adhere to the assignment guidelines.
NOTE: 2009-2010 housing Rates have been posted. In response to student feedback some reclassifications and corresponding rate adjustments have been made in rooms and suites. Some reclassifications reduce rates of small doubles, increase rates of some doubles, and increase rates for single rooms." Please review rates carefully.
Below is a breakdown of the steps necessary to obtain an assignment through the Phase III on line Lottery Selection form.
STEP 1: Access the Lottery Selection Form
Access the online Lottery Selection form through the Housing Channel at the NYUHome account of the card captain.
STEP 2: Compile List of Preferred Suites
- Review the list of available inventory with the intention of compiling a list of preferred suites.
- Select a building from the list on the left of the page to see the availability of the inventory of that building.
- Click on individual suites, rooms and/or bed spaces to learn specific information regarding those spaces.
- Highlighted spaces can be added to your preferred suites by clicking on the "Add Preferred" button at the bottom of the spaces box. Preferred Suites will appear in the in upper right hand corner of the assignment form.
STEP 3: Assign and Verify the Real Time Availability of Preferred Spaces
- Once your preferred list of spaces has been compiled, you can move to the assignment portion of this process by clicking on the "2. Assign Roommates to Spaces" tab at the top of the form.
- The group members will appear on the left hand side of the page. Assign group card members to spaces from your preferred suites by clicking on the name of each card member
- Once all members of the card are assigned you must verify that the spaces are still available and conform to the group assignment guidelines.
- If your assignments are not available or do not conform to the assignment guidelines, you will receive an error message.
- You can at anytime toggle back to the "1. Search for Preferred Suites" to search the inventory and add to your preferred suite list.
- If your assignments are valid you will receive a message instructing you to submit your assignments.
STEP 4: Submit Assignment(s) and Print Confirmation
- Once you have assigned group members and verified the real time availability of your preferred suites, you can then submit your assignments.
- Please note, spaces are not reserved until the final submission is complete and you have received a confirmation.
- Print the confirmation page. It is the card captain's responsibility to print enough copies for each person on their card, so that each student has a confirmation.
