The card captain is the person who, through their NYUHome account, submitted the lottery card on behalf of a group. The card captain is ultimately responsible for accessing the Phase III Lottery Selection form through NYUHome and selecting the individual hall/room for the group. Card Captains are responsible for printing the confirmation page at the end of the process and sharing it with other group members.

Hall/Room Selection times are determined by a randomized sorting within priority categories. Students submitting names together will have individual priorities averaged to create one group priority. Students submitting names together on one card does not guarantee placement together in a building nor a room assignment together. As space becomes limited, groups may be forced to split apart.

If possible, all group members are encouraged to be together to assist the CARD CAPTAIN with selection decisions. It is critical that group members discuss options and alternatives. Once an assignment is selected it cannot be changed.
