All eligible students with a renewable status returning from, going to, or continuing on an NYU approved Study Abroad program must complete Phase I. If you do not complete Phase I, you will lose your renewable status. Once you re-apply, you will have agreed to the terms of the 2009-2010 Housing License.

Students Currently Abroad in Spring 2009

Renewable students who are currently participating in a NYU approved Study Abroad program and are returning to NYU Housing for the fall 2009 semester, must complete the on-line Phase I Re-Application by February 25, 2009 and pay the $1000 non-refundable/non-transferable application deposit by February 27, 2009. Please be reminded that the terms of the housing license are for both fall and spring term. This is a 9 month commitment.

Failure to submit the Re-Application and pay the $1000 non-refundable/non-transferable application deposit by the deadline dates, will result in the loss of your renewable status. You will be eligible for housing only through the waitlist.

Students Going Abroad in Fall 2009

Students who have applied to a NYU study abroad program may not be notified of their acceptance until after the Housing re-application and deposit deadlines. Renewable students who plan on participating in a NYU approved Study Abroad program for fall 2009 and, who wish to maintain their NYU guaranteed housing status while abroad, must complete the on-line Phase I Re-Application by February 25, 2009 and pay the $1000 non-refundable/non-transferable application deposit by February 27, 2009.
Cancellations as a result of non-payment will result in the loss of your renewable status. You will be eligible for housing only through the waitlist.

Once your study abroad acceptance has been confirmed you must return the Fall 2009 Study Abroad Notification form to the Housing Office, 383 Lafayette St. by April 1, 2009. This form will authorize us to update our records to reflect your study abroad status. Once you have notified us of your status, your record will be adjusted and if applicable, the $1000 will be credited to your Bursar account.
