A Renewable status indicates that you have met all of the following requirements:
- students accept the initial housing offer at the time of admission
- students meet all payment deadlines
- students meet all reapplication deadlines
- students maintain full time matriculated status
- students do not at anytime cancel their housing contract (school approved medical leaves and NYU study abroad programs are the only exception)
With a Renewable Status you are guaranteed housing until graduation, provided that you continue to meet payment and application deadlines. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the housing lottery and room selection process for the upcoming Academic Year.
Please be reminded that the terms of the Housing License are for both fall and spring term. This is a 9 month commitment.
You must submit the on-line 2009-2010 Re-Application by February 25, 2009 and pay the non-refundable/non-transferable $1000 application deposit by February 27, 2009 to maintain your renewable status and be eligible for Phase II-Lottery Card submission.
Click here for more information regarding the re-application process or the payment requirements.
Students who miss the re-application or deposit payment deadline will lose their eligibility for guaranteed housing, and will be able to apply for housing only through the waitlist.
A non-renewable status indicates that you have not met one or more condition(s) for renewability and are not guaranteed university housing. Reasons for non-renewable status:
- did not accept or was not offered housing when admitted to the University
- missed a payment or application deadline
- cancelled housing at some point
- are scheduled to graduate in May 2009
With a non-renewable status you may apply for housing only through the waitlist. Waitlist applications will be available on-line May 5, 2009. There is no guarantee that housing will be available prior to the start of the Fall term.
