Who are we?
The Residential Leadership Team at New York University provides opportunities for leadership training, leadership education and leadership development.  We promote individual, group, and community development through a progression of activities and events designed to create active community engagement and citizenship.  We accomplish this task by the encouragement of:

  1. Personal development
  2. Skill development
  3. Intelligent dialogue
  4. Acquisition of knowledge
  5. Understanding of self and others

What do we do?

The Residential Leadership Team is guided by the Social Change Model of Leadership Development (1996, Astin H. And Astin A.). This model explores leadership from three perspectives: The Individual, The Group, and the Community/Society. Under each of these topics are seven critical values:

  1. Collaboration
  2. Consciousness of Self
  3. Commitment
  4. Congruence
  5. Common Purpose
  6. Controversy with Civility
  7. Citizenship

Using this model, we’ve created several programming opportunities for you to take advantage of!  Click on “Our Programs” to lean more!
