Conflict of Interest

Training in Conflict of Interest is required for all Investigators prior to the expenditure of any PHS funds and must be renewed every 4 years. This course must be completed prior to the expenditure of any funds from awards issuing on or after 8/24/12. You need only complete Stage 1 and read the Investigator Financial Interest Disclosure form for Public Health Service (PHS) in order to meet the training requirement.

CITI “Conflict of Interest” instructions:

If you already have a CITI account:

1. Log into CITI (www.citiprogram.org)

2. Scroll down past My Courses and click on the link Add course or update your learner groups.

3. The next screen will say Select Curriculum. Look for the question “Would you like to take the Conflicts of Interest Course?” and choose yes. You do not need to answer any other questions.

4. Under My Courses you should see Conflicts of Interest – Stage 1. Under Status click ENTER and complete the course.

If you do not have a CITI account:

1. Go to www.citiprogram.org to register

2. Select Your Participating Institution “New York University” and fill out the registration.  You must affiliate with NYU not NYUSOM. You do not need CME/CEU credits for this course.

3. Provide the information requested by NYU.

4. The next screen will say Select Curriculum. Look for the question “Would you like to take the Conflicts of Interest Course?” and choose yes. You do not need to answer any other questions.

5. Under My Courses you should see Conflicts of Interest – Stage 1. Under Status click ENTER and complete the course.
