NIH has just announced a major change in standard receipt dates for grant applications submitted to NIH and its sister agencies. The new receipt dates will be effective as of January 1, 2007, and will apply to both paper and electronic applications. This change is prompted by the problems encountered as a result of having very large numbers of incoming electronic grant applications on any single day. Note that the effect of this change is to sort receipt dates by grant mechanism, e.g., R type (research), P type (program project and center), K type (career development), etc., thereby spreading application deadlines throughout the year.
Submissions for Request for Applications (RFAs) and Program Announcements (PAs, PARs, PASs) with special receipt dates continue to be due on the specified dates listed in the Funding Opportunity Announcement.
Please bear in mind, for all electronic submissions, that the following OSP deadlines must be honored to ensure on-time submission of proposals:
