Official copies of your University transcript can be requested when a stamped and sealed copy of your academic record is required.
Requests for official transcripts require the signature of the student/alumnus requesting the transcript, unless the student/alumnus has a valid NetId.
Students with a valid NetId:
If you attended NYU after 2001 and are able to access NYUHome/Albert, you can now request an official transcript from the new Albert Student Center. The Official Transcript form can be found under the My Academics section of Student Center.
Click here for Albert access guidelines.
Please note that transcripts processed through the Albert Student Center will include your academic records from 1990 onwards. If you attended NYU prior to 1990 and have a valid NetId, you can go to the Secure Online Transcript Request Form. Once you login to the request form with your NetId and password, it will authenticate you as a student. A signed consent form is not required.
Before you complete your request, please check to ensure that all your grades have been posted. If you are a recent graduate, also check to ensure that your degree has been recorded.
SPECIAL HANDLING: If your request requires any special handling, proceed to the Secure Online Transcript Request Form instead of requesting a transcript on Albert. Follow the instructions on the form. Special handling includes 1) sending transcripts by express mail; 2) transcripts sent to yourself in separate sealed envelopes addressed to admissions offices of other universities; 3) including additional documents to be sent along with the NYU transcript.
Undergraduate students please note: Your academic advisor is a critical resource for making important academic decisions. Be sure to consult with your advisor if you are considering attending a summer session or study abroad program at another university or if you are considering transferring out of NYU to complete your degree elsewhere.
Former students without a valid NetId:
If you no longer have a valid NetId (unable to access NYUHome/Albert) or attended New York University prior to 1990, please complete the Online Transcript Request Form and mail, fax, or email the signature page to our office. You may also write a letter to request transcripts. A signed consent form is required.
Please note that all students who attended NYU in or after 2001 are now eligble for access to NYUHome/Albert. Click here for the Albert access guidelines.
There is no charge for academic transcripts. Transcripts cannot be produced for anyone whose record has been put on hold for an outstanding University obligation.
