How to Search the Course Schedule
The Course Search feature will enable you to view courses from the class schedule. Courses may be selected using any/all of the following criteria:
- Specific school
- Specific subject area within a school
- Course name
Additionally, you can filter schools & subject areas by specifying a course level.
- To start a search, select a term from the drop-down list.
- Specify a school or partial course name.
- If a school was specified, a drop-down menu will appear with subject areas from the school you selected. You can further refine your search by specifying a subject area.
- With the Section Filter options, you can select to view open sections and/or closed/canceled sections. By default, all sections will be displayed on your search results page.
- When finished specifying your search criteria, press the Get Course Listings button.
How to Read the Class Schedule

| College of Arts & Science | School/College Name Indicates the name of the school/college that is offering the course. All search results are grouped by schools/colleges. | ||
| V18 | Subject Area The first three characters identify the department or subject area within a department to which the course belongs (with the exception of SCPS Degree course). For a complete listing, see the Course Subject help page on Albert. |

| 0342 | Course Number | ||
| > | Implies that this section has certain restrictions on enrollment. Requires a 4-digit access code available from the department offering the course. |

| Meets 09/06.... | Relevant notes relating to schedules, restrictions, prerequisites and co-requisites. | ||

| 001 | Section Number A course may be taught at more than one time; the section number distinguishes the separate offerings of the same course. |

| 74245 | Course/Section Call Number Used for web registration only. Each section of a course has been assigned a specific course/section call number for use in Albert registration. |

| Closed | Status Closed - All available seats for this section have been filled. Canceled - This section is no longer offered for this term. Blank - A blank indicates that this section is open and has at least 1 seat available. |

| MTWR | Course Days A single character represents each day of the week. M - Monday T - Tuesday W - Wednesday R - Thursday F - Friday S - Saturday U - Sunday |

| 11:00am-12:15pm | Start/End Time The starting and ending time or each period in which the class meets. |

| WS | Location- Campus Area The two character campus area code where the class will meet. For a complete listing of campus locations, see the NYU Campus Code Key. |

| SILV 720 | Location- Bldg/Room The building and room where the class will meet. For a complete listing of building locations, see the NYU Building Code Key. |

| LEC | Course Type Indicates the method by which organized instruction is conducted. Course types are organized as follows:

| 4.0 | Points The points, or credit hours, assigned to the course section. Examples: 4.0 (A 4-credit course) 1.0 - 6.0 (A variable credit course which may be taken for any amount of credit within the specified range) 2.0 & 4.0 (An alternate credit course which may be taken for either 2 or 4 credits) |
