NYU LAW EXPERT HARRY FIRST AVAILABLE TO OFFER COMMENTARY ON KOZLOWSKI CASE AND WALL STREET SCANDALS IN GENERAL

NYU Law School Professor Harry First, a specialist in business crime, is available to discuss (for print or TV media) the Dennis Kozlowski case in which the former chairman and CEO of Tyco International is accused of looting the company and investors of $600 million. Professor First can also discuss the Frank Quattrone case. Quattrone, a star Silicone Valley investment banker, is charged with obstructing justice during an investigation into how his firm allocated high-flying stock offerings. Quattrone goes to trial today, too. Possible issues/subjects to be discussed:

• An overview of the long procession of scandals plaguing Wall Street and the corporate looters, who, while living the high life, have sunk investors, employees and their companies.
• The Kozlowski case is the first big test case on corporate greed-what will be the impact on other cases (Ken Lay of Enron and Richard Scrushy of HealthSouth, e.g.) if Kozlowski is not convicted?
• What will Kozlowski defense strategy be? And what are the odds of it succeeding?
