| Contact: | Barbara Jester (212) 998-6844 |
Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò at New York University will present "Italian Cinema: A New Generation," films by five of Italy's most original, up-and-coming directors, during the week of December 4-8. Of special interest is the New York premiere of the film Tano da Morire on Wednesday, December 6; the film is a surrealistic "Mafia musical" which was a smash hit in Italy (and also a controversial one). This screening will be followed by a discussion with the director Roberta Torre.
The screenings and discussions which follow some of the films are co-sponsored by the NYU Department of Italian Studies, the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Cinema Italia, and Cinecittà International. All films are in Italian with English subtitles. For further information the public may call (212) 998-8739.
