FRIDAY, NOV. 19, 1999 - FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

New York University’s Journal of Legislation and Public Policy, a nonpartisan periodical specializing in the analysis of state or federal legislation, will hold a symposium entitled, “Legislating Morality: The Debate Over Human Cloning” on Friday, Nov. 19, from noon to 6 pm, at the NYU School of Law, 40 Washington Square South.

The symposium comes at time that demands serious discourse on the future of this technology--especially on the way in which proposed federal legislation will affect business, science, and society, say the Journal’s editors. The first panel will discuss how moral objectives shape legislation in the United States. The second panel will explore these concerns in the field of the growing national debate over the science of human cloning. A number of prominent experts will participate.

A question and answer session will follow each panel.

For reservations, please call Todd Martin at (212) 998-6480.
