The Symposium is sponsored by New York University's Journal of Legislation and Public Policy a nonpartisan periodical specializing in the analysis of state or federal legislation

The symposium will address ways in which regulators and legislators are adapting their methods of policing and regulating the sale of securities as the proliferation of the Internet changes the way stocks are traded.

The first panel will discuss the changes that have occurred in the sale of securities with the creation of the Internet, while the second panel will explore the future of regulation and self-regulation as the securities industry begins to address these various changes.
