Alfred Bloom, President of Swarthmore, to Lead NYU Abu Dhabi
On September 29, 2008, NYU announced the appointment of Alfred H. Bloom, the highly respected president of Swarthmore College, as Vice Chancellor of NYU Abu Dhabi. While completing his term as Swarthmore’s president, he will serve as a consultant; he will assume full-time leadership of NYU Abu Dhabi in August 2009. NYU Abu Dhabi’s first students will arrive in fall 2010. Read more »
Gallatin School to Host Ellen Mclaughlin's "Penelope," Oct. 29-Nov. 1
NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study will host “Penelope,” a workshop presentation of a new play by actress and playwright Ellen McLaughlin, for five performances (Oct. 29-31 at 7 p.m.; Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.) at its Jerry H. Funding for After-School Programs Shows Big Increase Since 1998, NYU Study Finds
New York University’s Institute for Education and Social Policy (IESP) today released a policy brief, “Public Funding for Comprehensive After-School Programs, 1998-2008,” showing that since 1998, city, state, and federal support of after-school programming in New York City has steadily increased, from about $23 million in 1998 to nearly $300 million this year. NYUCN Receives Robert Wood Johnson Scholarship Grant for Underrepresented Students
In the 2009 spring semester, NYU College of Nursing will grant $10,000 scholarships to 15 accelerated program baccalaureate students.
