NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study will host four performances of “The Trial,” Stephen Berkoff’s stage adaptation of the Franz Kafka novel of the same name, November 5-7 (7 p.m.) and November 8 (2 p.m.), at its Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts (715 Broadway at Washington Place/entrance on 1 Washington Place).

The performance is directed by Gallatin’s Kristin Horton, a clinical assistant professor whose works have appeared at Riverside Theatre, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and the National Black Theatre Festival, among other venues.

On the morning of his 30th birthday, two men arrest banker Joseph K for an unknown crime. As Joseph K races to determine what felony he has inadvertently committed, he gets lost in the maddening world of bureaucracy, law, and no answers.
