On April 22nd, New York University will participate in the 39th annual Earth Day celebration with a street fair, lectures, green projects, and an environmental networking dinner. We kick-off the celebration early with a week-long schedule of events, including a lecture by Oxford University’s climate change expert Cameron Hepburn on “Earth Day Eve.” Hepburn’s lecture - “Beating Long Odds: A New Global Deal on Climate Change,” will be held Tuesday, April 21, 6:00 pm at the Gould Welcome Center, 50 West 4th Street, NYC.

• Earth Day Street Fair 10:00-2:00 pm: Featuring Music by Long Haul and Steinhardt Undergraduate Student Performers (Washington Place between Greene and Washington Square East)
• Green Grants Info Session 4:00-5:00 pm: Come hear about NYU Green Grants, their purpose and objectives, and how to submit a proposal. (Silver Center,100 Washinton Square East, Jurow Lecture Hall)
• Green Grants Project Symposium 5:00-8:00 pm: See posters, presentations, video, and more as leaders of NYU’s 2008-09 Green Grants present the outcomes of their projects. for more information about Green Grants please visit www.nyu.edu/sustainability/greengrants (Silver Center,100 Washinton Square East, Jurow Lecture Hall and Silverstein Lounge)
• Earth Day Networking Dinner - Eat and Greet, Minus the Meat! 6:00-9:00 pm: Join Earth Matters for a delicious vegetarian buffet and panel discussion: “Follow Your Food,” featuring keynote speaker, PETA’s Bruce Friedrich. (Kimmel Center,60 Washington Square South, Rosenthal Pavilion)
