NYU's Deutsches Haus Hosts Special Events in March

Deutsches Haus at New York University, located at 42 Washington Mews (at University Place), will host several special events in March, including a March 10th panel discussion, “Media Walls - Media Escapes,” remembering the Berlin Wall and East German television 20 years later. - Thurs., Mar. 5 - Fri., Mar. 6 Symposium: “Keeping It Real: Literature and the Desire for Reality.” Participants include: Eric Downing, Univ. of North Carolina; Eva Geulen, Bonn University; Eckart Goebel, NYU; Barbara Hahn, Vanderbilt University; Rainer Nägele, Yale University; and Elke Siegel, NYU. - Tues., Mar. 10, 7 p.m. Panel discussion: “Media Walls- Media Escapes.” Twenty years after the Berlin Wall and East German television, participants discuss the media history of a divided Germany. Panel includes Uwe Breitenborn, Berlin/MLU Halle; Edward Larkey, Univ. of Maryland; Sascha Trültzsch, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle; and Reinhold Viehoff, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle.
- Tues., Mar. 24, 7 p.m. Lecture: “Zweifaches Schreiben: Zur Kritik des literarischen ‘Doppelgängers’” by Daniel Müller Nielaba, Universität Zürich. In German.
