On Wednesday, February 18, 2009, the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University will host four noted experts to discuss the global crises of food access and fuel prices, including:
Frances Moore Lappe, co-founder of the Small Planet Institute, author of the breakthrough book “Diet for a Small Planet,” and co-author of “Hope’s Edge: The Next Diet for a Small Planet.” Walden Bello, executive director of Focus on the Global South and professor of sociology at the University of the Philippines, and author of “Deglobalization: Ideas for a New World Economy.” Jun Borras, Canada Research Chair in International Development Studies Saint Mary’s University Halifax, Canada, co-editor of Transnational Agrarian Movements Confronting Globalization Barry Gills, Professor of Global Politics, Newcastle University, editor of “The Clash of Globalizations: ‘Empire’ or ‘Cosmopolis.’ ”
