“Hauntings: Memory, Patrimony, and the Contested Past,” a special lecture series focusing on the conceptualizations and practices of memory work, takes place in March and April at New York University’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center, 53 Washington Square South. Speakers in the series are developing ways of exploring the historical and the political that take into account issues of sovereignty, inheritance, subjectivity, embodiment, and materiality in the Western hemisphere.
