- WHAT: This summer, New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS) offers an intensive program in Arts Administration. For those who are thinking about entering the field of arts administration, or who are recent college graduates interested in this field, the intensive program is an ideal choice.
The phenomenal growth in the number of visual and performing arts organizations has created a need for skilled managers in arts administration. The program covers staffing and operating a nonprofit organization; how to work with boards of directors; marketing techniques and strategies; basic principals of fundraising; budgeting, accounting, contracts, and legal issues.
Lectures, discussions, case studies, workshops, guest speakers, and study tours of local arts groups create an overview of the varied career paths available in arts administration.
