• WHAT: Congressman Keith Ellis will be leading a forum with students and young professionals to discuss issues relevant to the American Muslim Community as well as how Muslims can become more civically engaged.
• WHO: Congressman Ellison represents the Fifth Congressional District of Minnesota in the United States House of Representatives. He took office on January 4, 2007. Ellison’s election to the Congress made both Minnesota and U.S. history by becoming the first African American elected to the Congress from Minnesota, as well as the first Muslim American to be elected to the U.S. Congress.

The Islamic Center at NYU serves the Muslim population at NYU, a private institution of higher education and research located in lower Manhattan, in one of the world’s most innovative and important cities.
