The award-winning journalist, filmmaker and human rights activist Irshad Manji has received death threats and distinctions for her internationally best-selling book, The Trouble with Islam Today: A Muslim’s Call for Reform in Her Faith. As founding director of the Moral Courage Project at NYU Wagner’s Research Center for Leadership in Action, Irshad’s mission is to develop leaders who will challenge political correctness, self-censorship and intellectual conformity.
Please join the NYU Women’s Initiative for a thought-provoking evening with this inspired thinker and doer on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Helen and Martin Kimmel Center for University Life, Eisner & Lubin Auditorium, 4th Floor, 60 Washington Square South (at the corner of LaGuardia Place), New York, N.Y. The networking reception will take place from 6:00-6:45 p.m., followed by Irshad Manji’s lecture, Q&A and book-signing, 6:45-8:00 p.m.
