NYU Roundtable On I.F. Stone Includes Peter Osnos, Robert Kaiser, and Jeremy Stone, March 12

New York University’s Department of Journalism will host “The Independent Journalism of I. F. Stone on the 100th Anniversary of His Birth” on Wed., March 12, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at 20 Cooper Square, 7th Floor Commons (betw. E. 5th and E. 6th Sts.). Subways: 6 (Astor Place); R, W (8th St.)

The panel will include: Washington Post Associate Editor Robert Kaiser; former Washington Post reporter Myra MacPherson, author of All Governments Lie: The Life and Times of Rebel Journalist I. F. Stone; Peter Osnos, founder of PublicAffairs books and former assistant to Stone; and D. D. Guttenplan, London editor of The Nation and author of the forthcoming American Radical: The Life and Times of I.F. Stone. NYU Journalism Professor Mitchell Stephens, author of A History of News, will moderate the session, which will include remarks by I.F. Stone’s son, Jeremy; and Nieman Foundation Curator Robert Giles.

The late I. F. Stone, a crusading investigative journalist, published his own weekly in Washington from 1953 to 1971. Information about his life and examples of his writings can be found at www.ifstone.org/testing.
