Monday, Oct 01, 2007
In light of last week’s Senate hearing on the UN’s Law of the Sea Treaty, Professor Howard S. Schiffman, an expert on Law of the Sea, from NYU’s Center for Global Affairs is available to discuss the treaty and how nations and international lawyers could use the treaty against the U.S. in a back-door effort to implement the unratified global warming treaty. He can also discuss the pros and cons of the treaty.
An international lawyer and consultant to NGOs and other international organizations in such areas as the law of the sea, marine conservation law and policy and international dispute settlement, Schiffman is academic program director and clinical associate professor for the graduate program in Global Affairs at NYU.
