NYU Steinhardt Inaugurates Free Concert Series with Music by Bach, Berg, Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninov

New York University’s Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions kicks off “The Steinhardt Series,” a free concert series featuring piano music, chamber music, and jazz on Weds., April 18, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Saklad Auditorium, NYU College of Dentistry, 345 E. 24th Street. The program will feature piano performances by Emy Todoroki-Schwartz and Meiko Mitsuda, gifted master’s students from the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions. The pianists will perform on a nine-foot Steinway piano donated to NYU by Frank Sinatra in honor of Dr. Maurice J. Saklad in 1979. Dr. Amr Moursi, Chair of Pediatric Dentistry, and Dr. Marilyn Nonken, Director of Piano Studies, will provide the welcome address. [Subway: 6 (23rd Street)]
