Statement by NYU Spokesman John Beckman On Killing of Yevgeniy Marshalik
Thursday, Mar 15, 2007
N-352, 2006-07
“This is shocking and terrible news – shocking because our community is unaccustomed to this kind of violent crime, and terrible because one of our students was courageously and selflessly performing the noblest kind of community service for our local neighborhood when he was killed.
“The NYU community grieves for the tragic loss of Yevgeniy Marshalik, taken from our midst far too soon in a senseless act of violence, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, who are in our thoughts and our hearts.”
