"Great universities are defined by great faculty. We at NYU are proud of our faculty -- they combine the best of knowledge creation with a dedication to students at all levels.
"To have one of our many outstanding faculty recognized with a Nobel is a wonderful ratification of what it is we do at a research university. On behalf of the NYU community, I offer my congratulations to Robert Engle, an outstanding scholar and a great colleague who exemplifies NYU's common enterprise model and who richly deserves this distinction."
