Brain Power, Rock Band Combine Forces for Nov. 1 Event

New York University Neuroscientist Joseph LeDoux, author of The Emotional Brain and Synaptic Self: How Our Brains Become Who We Are, will deliver a public lecture, “Fearful Brains in an Anxious World,” followed by a concert with his band, the Amygdaloids, on Wed., Nov. 1, 7:30 p.m. at Union Hall (702 Union St [at 5th Ave], Park Slope, Brooklyn).
The band, comprised of four NYU scientists, plays a blend of original tunes (“Mind-Body Problem,” “All in a Nut,” “If You Want Your Mind to Last”) and covers (“19th Nervous Breakdown,” “Manic Depression,” and more) collectively dubbed “Brain Rock—BROCK.”
