Cathy De Long is the Associate Provost for Academic Financial Planning and Fiscal Affairs. As the Provost’s senior budget expert and adviser, Ms. De Long focuses on the Schools’ budgets, serving as a liaison between the Office of the Provost and the Office of Budget and Financial Planning.

Prior to joining the Provost’s Office, Ms. De Long served as Associate Dean for Finance and Strategic Planning at NYU’s School of Law where she was responsible for the financial operations of the school, as well as for tactical and strategic planning. From 1997 to 2001 she worked as a financial consultant for a private consulting firm in Chicago and from 1983 to 1997 she held positions in the financial services and insurance industries in Chicago and New York, including divisional controller, director of finance, and a variety of underwriting and financial analysis positions in the executive and professional liability lines of business. She began her career as an auditor in the banking industry.

Ms. De Long received a B.S. degree from Marquette University in 1983 and holds professional certifications as both a certified public accountant and chartered property casualty underwriter.
