University Leadership
The installation of President John Sexton and Provost David McLaughlin, during a ceremony on September 26, 2002 also marked the formal launch of the new University Leadership Team. Members of this team, both new to and veterans of New York University, were originally announced by then President-designate Sexton last spring in a memorandum to the University community. "If there is to be a single phrase that captures the spirit of the 15th NYU Presidency," said Sexton at that time, "it is collegial decision-making and dedication to the enterprise. These announcements represent the mobilization of extraordinary talent and of a group of people that has demonstrated a commitment to operating in such a system."
