The University Coordinating Council for Visual Arts was established in 2006 to provide a forum for interdisciplinary research, discussion, and collaboration in the visual arts disciplines. The 2008-09 Steering Committee (members listed below) is happy to announce a grant opportunity for faculty working in the visual arts.
The attached guidelines announce the third round of competition for Visual Arts Initiatives Awards. These awards provide up to $5,000 to support innovative projects involving collaboration among faculty from New York University. We encourage collaborative proposals from faculty across schools, departments, or within the same department. Project proposals will be accepted from individuals this year, but priority will be given to collaborative proposals. Projects will be funded for one year beginning July 1, 2009. Application deadline is May 19, 2009. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Please share this announcement with interested faculty and encourage them to apply for this special opportunity.
Also, please note, the Visual Arts Council has created a list-serv on NYU Lists where members can post information about their events, etc. To join, access the list via NYU Home under 'Browse and Subscribe to NYU Lists' in the 'Home' tab or send a blank email to join-visual-arts-council@lists.nyu.edu
Any list serv member may post to the list by sending an email announcement to visual-arts-council@lists.nyu.edu
We look forward to your application and welcome any questions,
