These robotic geese also differ substantively from other digital online projects based on (non robotic) avatars. The robotic geese facilitate interactions that may be surprising, and are certainly unscripted. The actual geese have an autonomy that the avatars pretend. The biological geese also have a troubling political status which is what makes them important socio political objects of analysis.
