Application deadline: March 15th, 2008 - (We are no longer acccepting applications for this year) Summer Institute of Music Technology: July 14 – July 25, 2008 Hosted by New York University’s Music Technology program, the Summer Institute of Music Technology is a two-week workshop designed for high school students who wish to learn about and experience music technology. Through class lectures, labs and individualized studio time, students will learn the fundamentals of music technology. Topics include: • How to build your own studio The learning experience will be complemented by a: • Tour of a professional recording and post-production studio Housing/Meals Participants will stay in Hayden Hall, a suite-style dormitory on the west side of Washington Square Park, minutes away from NYU’s main classroom facilities. Bedrooms have a bed, desk, dresser and closet/armoire for each student. Rooms are air-conditioned, but they do not have telephone or Internet access. There is 24-hour security and trained Resident Assistants (RA) assigned to each floor. Participants will receive a package of bed linens with a small towel when they arrive. Participants who request a single will not have a roommate, while participants in doubles will be assigned to live with one or two other participants from the program. Participants will receive more information about housing after they have been accepted to the program. Cost The cost of the two-week program is $1525. The fee for housing is $325 per week and for the meal plan is $95 for 10 meals.
