PRE VISIT
PURPOSE
How can we use the Prospect Wild Life Center to gain knowledge on what is being done to protect the wildlife?
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

Students will determine when animals are endangered.
Students will explain what they can do to help endangered animals.
MATERIALS
Camera, pen, notebook, wildlife center activity sheets, News articles and books on endangered animals.
STUDENT LEARNING PREREQUISITES

Read Books and Articles on endangered animals and answer the following questions. What does it mean to be endangered? What animals are endangered? Why are these animals endangered? What is being done to keep the animals safe? What can we do to keep animals from being endangered?
VISIT

Assign into groups.  Make sure students have cameras to take pictures.  Introduction From wildlife staff.
Show relevant slides of animals. This is done by staff.  View animal exhibits answer questions on wildlife center activity sheet.  Animal demonstration. Question and answer. Demonstration is done by wildlife Center.
POST VISIT
Assessment: Have students write an individual report (Include what we can do to preserve the life of endangered animals) and create a display on a poster board Titled our trip to Prospect Park Wildlife Center. (Include Pictures)
HOMEWORK
Explain the following terms.
Extinct Rare
Endangered Insufficiently known
Vulnerable Carnivores
