Design an organism

 

Objectives: Using the information you have obtained about organisms, their needs, and the environment, create an organism.  The organism should be functional and capable of producing offspring.  Prepare a brief outline of the characteristics of your organism.  Make a model of your organism with an explanation for its anatomy.

Prerequisites:

Various knowledge about forms of life.  Types of skeletal/other body systems.  Need and activities of living things.

Visit:

Make note of the information provided by the following exhibits at the Liberty Science Center:

1.     Lungs

2.     Freshwater March

3.     The bone tables.

Make a list of some of the qualities you may include in your organism based on the information obtained from the visit.  Compare and contrast this information with the descriptive outline prepared prior to the visit.

Homework:

§       Complete your design of an organism

§       Give the organism a name, and include the classification kingdom it would belong to, its optimal habitat, and dietary preferences.

§       Be prepared to explain the reasoning behind your design.
