| Strain Isolation | Paul De Ley, November, 1994 Landegem, Belgium. From a park forest (Mahy property). Very dark soil under leaf litter from a park forest of mixed deciduous trees (sample taken 2 m from an oak). |
| Culture Notes | Grows on "wet plates" (3-5 drops of E. coli culture in 4 ml phosphate buffer (50 mM KH2PO4/K2HPO4, pH 7.3) on 1% pure agar with 5 mg/ml cholesterol. Avoid using needles in transfer. Sensitive to pH and dessication. Males not seen. |
