In a moss nest of hybrid gulls (Larus argentatus + Larus hyperboreus) on a lava rock.
Culture Notes Grows on OP50 at 18-22C. Gonochoristic. Sent to David Fitch by Gaetan Borgonie
March 5, 1992. Grows at 18-22C on agar. Gonochoristic. Strain started
from a single gravid female by Bjorn Sohlenius. Of the original extracted
nematode suspension, part was transferred to agar plates and cultured on Nigon's agar.
The P. superbus population survived in coculture with a P. detritophagus
population for five years.
Cryopreservation Survives freezing.
