Strain Isolation Robin M. Giblin-Davis, 1988
State Route 84, Collier County, Florida.
Isolated as dauer juveniles from an adult Rhynchophorus cruentatus
(palmetto weevil) host.
Culture Notes Grows well on OP50 at 20-25C. Gonochoristic. Burrows into agar.
Originally cultured at 20-30C. Sent to D. Fitch by R. Giblin-Davis,
November 22, 1991. 18S rDNA sequenced (Fitch et al., 1995).
Cryopreservation Survives freezing, but not well.
