ALUMNI: Cinema Studies Department / Moving Image Archiving and Preservation Program
Our graduates enter a wide variety of fields. Some are successful screenwriters, filmmakers, actors, or work in development or publicity within the film industry. Others have successful careers in journalism at publications such as The Village Voice, Premiere Magazine and American Cinematographer. Our PhD graduates have an excellent record of finding academic positions while doctoral candidates are often successful in landing teaching positions as they complete their dissertations. Graduates of all our programs (MA, BA, PhD and MIAP MFA) are currently working at institutions such as The Museum of Modern Art, Anthology Film Archives, Pacific Film Archives, and Electronic Arts Intermix, serving in a range of capacities, including programming, collection management, preservation and research.
