NYU students may become involved in a variety of intramural programs. These include team sports, such as touch football, softball, volleyball, in-line hockey, 7-on-a-side outdoor soccer, 5-on-a-side indoor soccer, and basketball, as well as individual sports such as racquetball, squash, tennis, and badminton. Special events include Ballroom Dance Clinics, Greek Night, Spring Sprint Relay, Turkey Trot, Bicycle Repair and Touring Workshop, All-University Games, Inter-Residence Hall Council Winter Games, 3-3 Basketball, and Ice Skating Nights.
 
The recreation program offers over 140 courses in activities such as step-aerobics, weight training, aquatics, aerobics, ARC emergency care, body building, knockout workout, jazz, ballet, ballroom dance, Eastern disciplines, martial arts, self-defense, individual fitness, and racquet sports.
 
The Department of Athletics, Intramurals, and Recreation supports and encourages student groups that share common athletic interests to pursue these activities collectively. Students can join sports clubs such as Ji Do Kwan, Ballroom Dance, Cycling, Karate, Referee, Triathlon, Racquetball, Squash, Crew, Badminton, Tae Kwon Do, Baseball, Equestrian, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Runners, Water Polo, Walking, Women’s Softball, and Ultimate Frisbee.
