Yale Center for British Art - Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship Pre-Doctoral Fellowship: The purpose of this fellowship is to promote the study of British Art. The fellowship also provides the option of a museum internship and graduate coursework at Yale University. Eligibility: Candidates must be foreign residents, normally from the United Kingdom; they must either be enrolled for a higher degree at a British or other non-American University or be pursuing more advanced research in the field. Period: Residence in New Haven for the full academic year (September until May) except for vacations (one week at Thanksgiving, three weeks at Christmas and two weeks in March) is required. Award: US $17,500, plus return airfare from London. In addition, health insurance, staff and library privileges, research-related photography and travel expenses within the United States (up to US $1,000) are provided. Fellows are required to make their own arrangements for living accommodations in New Haven. Deadline: Before January 15, 1998.
