Washington State University--Summer Doctoral Fellows Program WSU invites applications and nominations from doctoral candidates who are nearing the completion of their graduate degrees and preparing for careers in higher education. Applications will be considered in the following colleges: Agriculture and Home Economics, Education, Engineering and Architecture, Liberal Arts, Nursing, Pharmacy, Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine. The purpose of the program is to provide selected doctoral students with the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors at Washington State University in preparing for future careers as faculty in colleges and universities. During the program Fellows will participate in seminars and will design individualized programs for enhancing their ability in teaching, research, and scholarship. Eligibility: The program is designed primarily for US citizens from diverse backgrounds. All requirements other than the dissertation must be completed by June 1, 1999. Period: Six weeks during the summer Stipend: $3,000 stipend, plus University housing provided. Deadline: March 1, 1999.
