Washington University--Chancellor's Graduate Fellowship Program The Chancellor's Graduate Fellowship Program for African-Americans has been designed to facilitate training for students interested in becoming college or university professors. Eligibility: African-Americans who are admissable into any of Washington University's Ph.D. or D.Sc. programs in Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, or Social Work. Also eligible are African Americans admissable to other Washington University programs providing final disciplinary training for prospective college professors. Fellows will meet as a community on a regular basis to discuss trends and activities within their various disciplines. Scholars will lead discussions on a multitude of topics and the Fellows will participate in an annual conference which will include national and local scholars, leaders from the St. Louis and regional communities, and members of the greater Washington University faculty and student body. Period: Doctoral candidates making satisfactory academic progress, will receive the fellowship for five years. Award: Stipends and allowances at $16,000 per year plus tuition scholarships, with a total value in excess of $120,000 per Fellow. Deadline: January 15, 1998, Application in a Degree Program.
