Tufts University--Summer Multicultural Teaching Fellows Program Tufts University has established the Summer Multicultural Teaching Fellows Program (SMTFP) to assist the development of a diverse and representative faculty, enhance the educational experience of our students and better prepare them for the increasingly diverse United States and world of the 21st century. Students may apply for fellowships in a variety of Social Science, Arts, Humanities, Science, and Engineering disciplines. Interdisciplinary fellowships are also available. The SMTFP provides the Fellows with an opportunity to gain teaching experience while becoming acquainted with Tufts and gives our faculty the opportunity to observe the Fellows' work. Fellows will teach one course during a six-week term. Eligibility: Tufts will offer teaching fellowships to underrepresented U.S. graduate students who are either entering the final year of their terminal degree or have already received their terminal degree and are preparing to be college faculty. Preference will be given to students scheduled to graduate in 1999. Period: Summer of 1998 Stipend: Fellows receive a $3,500 stipend. Deadline: October 24, 1997.
