The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues--Awards The Otto Klineberg Intercultural and International Relations Award: A $1,000 award is given for the best paper or article of the year on intercultural or international relations. Entries can be either papers published during the current year or unpublished manuscripts. The competition is open to non-members, as well as members of SPSSI. Graduate students are especially encouraged to apply. Deadline: February 1 The Clara Mayo Grants: Four awards of up to $1,000 per grant, are available in 1999-2000 to support master's thesis or pre-dissertation research on aspects of sexism, racism, or prejudice. Preference is given to students enrolled in a terminal masters program. Applicants should have completed graduate programs in psychology, applied social science, or related disciplines. Studies of the application of theory or the design of interventions or treatments to address these problems are welcome. Although proposals without matching funds will be considered, those with institutional matching funds will be favored.
