School of American Research (SAR)--Resident Scholar Fellowship Program

Resident scholar program: for research and writing projects in
     anthropology and related disciplines in the humanities and
     social sciences.

Eligibility: fellowships are awarded to PhD candidates,
     postdoctoral scholars, and retired scholars.  

Period: Nine months, beginning September 1 and ending May 31.

Award: Resident scholars are provided with an apartment and an 
     office on campus, a stipend up to $30,000 and other benefits
     during the tenure.

Deadline: Completed applications must be postmarked by November 15th.
