Radio and Television News Directors Foundation, Inc.--Internships Minority Summer Internships: Any junior year or more advanced undergraduate or graduate minority student enrolled in an electronic journalism sequence at an accredited university who has a stated interest in news management is eligible for a three-month summer internship in television or radio news management. Interns begin June 1, 1999 and receive a salary of $1,000 per month. Interns are responsible for their own housing and living expenses. They will be assigned to a supervisor in management, production or the assignment desk and will receive hands-on experience in the day-to-day management of electronic news. Deadline: March 1, 1999 Minority Entry Level Internships: Any (including African American, Asian American, Hispanic American and Native American) recent graduate of an electronic journalism sequence at an accredited university who has a stated interest in news management is eligible for a six-month internship in television or radio news management. Interns begin June 1, 1999 and receive a salary of $1,300 per month. They will receive hands-on experience in a management-related capacity, such as production, the assignment desk or administration. Applicants who have graduated over year ago will not qualify. Deadline: March 1, 1999 Capitol Hill News Internships: Two summer and two spring fully-paid internships based in Washington, D.C. are available for recent journalism school graduates, with preference given to minority students. Interns will be responsible for following newsworthy congressional activities and helping to coordinate broadcast coverage of these activities. Each internship is a full-time position for three months, with a salary of $1,000 per month. Travel, housing and other living expenses are the responsibility of the intern. Deadline: The March 1, 1999 deadline is for summer internships, June 1 - August 31, 1999.
